DESIGN SPRINT

CASE STUDY

Design Sprint Day 2: Sketch

LIGHTNING DEMOS

I needed to investigate the architecture and content strategy for art platforms that were simultaneously high profile and high engagement. So, I turned to Spotify, the Louvre App and Genius.

For an in depth analysis of an app, select the image.

Crazy 8’s Exercise

This screen is the moment that the user has embarked on their journey of engaging with a particular work. I chose it because I wanted to see which subsequent functions and points of engagement would need to be included and organized in different hierarchy. The idea is that the artwork itself will anchor all the rest of the supplementary information.

So the question is, what interactions and other pieces of content does the user want to be able to explore?

The design challenge is that each of these sub-sets need to be linked to each other, encouraging the user to:

1) Explore according to their own agency of curiosity

2) Feel that they are being guided along their exploration when they are feeling uncertain

SOLUTION SKETCH

The solution sketch reduced the exploration to the decisive moment of interaction: a user finds a train on the subway, explores its history and adds to the public knowledge base.
